MID-AUTUMN FEST 2023 RECAP

Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 12-11pm
Trans-Pecos in Ridgewood (Queens), NY

From farm to family, Mid-Autumn Fest (MAF) exists to nurture and cultivate NYC's blossoming Asian-American arts and food community. MAF is a day-long celebration of the bountiful contributions from NYC's diverse AANHPI community—featuring a mix of performers and creators: musicians, dancers, DJs, artisans, culinary masters, horticulturalists, Muay Thai practitioners, visual artists, and comedians. In essence, we were bringing the magic of the Asian Night Market to the heart of Queens.

The festival also culminated in a 4-week fundraiser (launched August 30, 2023) for Choy Commons, a New York Asian-American farming collective engaging Asian-American communities to build food sovereignty in the Northeastern United States. So it was a Harvest Moon celebration to support those who do the actual harvesting! The fundraiser also allows for the festival to take place and for its performers and artists to be paid.
